MICHAEL DEMERSSEMAN was admitted to bar in 1967, South Dakota. Education: College of St. Thomas (B.A., 1964); University of South Dakota (J.D., 1967). Member, South Dakota House of Representatives 1995-97. Mr. DeMersseman's practice is concentrated in the areas of corporations, environmental law, personal injury and employment law. He has served as Labor Relations Counsel for a number of major employers in South Dakota. Mr. DeMersseman frequently advises our business clients on employment law matters, including discrimination claims, wrongful termination cases and compliance with federal and state employment laws. He has conducted an active personal injury practice for many years, along with his commercial litigation and legislative practice.
HARRY CHRISTIANSON was admitted to bar in 1974, South Dakota. Education: Kemper Military College (A.A. 1969); University of South Dakota (B.S., 1971); University of South Dakota (J.D. 1974). Mr. Christianson has served as counsel to Governor William J. Janklow and as the Secretary of the South Dakota Department of Commerce and Regulation. He serves as a lobbyist and as administrative law counsel for numerous major corporations and trade associations before the South Dakota Legislature and state and federal agencies. Mr. Christianson has been instrumental in the development of several businesses in Western South Dakota, assisting with capital formation from both private and governmental sources, and regulatory approval for our clients in these efforts. Mr. Christianson serves on the South Dakota Banking Commission and is a member of the Gaming Law Committee of the South Dakota Bar Association.
